Longtime friendship inspires legacy gift to Hotchkiss Brain Institute

A US$12.5-million injection of funding from the late T. Boone Pickens, a renowned American philanthropist, energy industry giant and close friend of institute namesake Harley Hotchkiss, is bringing new opportunities for brain and mental health research at the �Ӱ��Ƶ.

World-class quantum research — right here in Alberta

Initiated by a group of visionary donors, the $25-million Quantum Horizons Alberta (QHA) imitative brings together UCalgary and the universities of Alberta and Lethbridge grow Alberta's already considerable capacity, attract top talent to the province, and train the next generation of scientists.

Celebrating Joan Snyder’s legacy

Joan Snyder was a visionary philanthropist, “grandmother of Canadian women’s hockey” and a true friend to the community. Her generous $67.5-million gift to the �Ӱ��Ƶ will take chronic-disease research, sport science and athletics to new heights — for the benefit of all Canadians.
